Infertility

Infertility is the failure to conceive after 12 months of regular, unprotected intercourse in patients less than 35 years old or after 6 months in patients more than 35 years of age. The chance of conception each cycle is 20‐25%. 80% of couples will be pregnant at 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse and up to 95% at 2 years.

The causes of infertility are male factor ~25‐30%, ovulatory dysfunction ~20%, tubal damage 14%, endometriosis 6% and unexplained infertility ~30%.

If you are concerned that you may be experiencing difficulty getting pregnant, please schedule an office visit with one of our physicians. Once full evaluation is done and the cause of infertility is established, a treatment plan can be created. This may include medication,  a surgical procedure, or assisted reproductive technology.
